The 28th Annual Tanglewood Festival of Lights- at Tanglewood Park, in Clemmons NC is happening now!
From November 15th to January 1st. Festival of Lights is open nightly, Friday, November 15th, 2019 through Wednesday, January 1st, 2020 from 6PM to 11PM, with the exception of Tuesday, December 31, when the show closes at 10PM.
Visitors will view over a hundred light displays along a five-mile stretch. This is the largest, oldest and most well developed light display in the greater Triangle area. Located only ten minutes outside Winston Salem, holiday light enthusiasts travel 2 to 3 hours for the twinkle lights and family holiday fun. A common issue is the long wait times so get there early and expect at least a thirty minute wait. If you arrive past 8pm expect 5-6 hour wait times and a chance that you won’t see any lights as they end at 2 AM.
More than just lights, this event also boasts horse drawn carriage rides, visits from Santa and s’more making!
Mr and Mrs. Claus and all Santa’s helpers will be at Festival of Lights Friday, November 15th through December 23rd. Santa will be at the show until 10 P.M. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Friday and Saturday hours are from 5:45 P.M. until the Gift Shop closes. Santa will offer hard copy and digital images for a fee but visits with Santa are always free.
You will find a Gift Shop located at the Red Barn. This is positioned half way through the light display. Take this chance to stretch your legs while shopping for holiday crafts and gifts made by local artists.
Maybe the most celebrated tradition of the event is the s’more selection. The Festival of Lights, S’moresville is also located in the Gift Village. Lowes Food will be selling roasting sticks (you may not bring your own sticks or food items into the park). These roasting sticks are complete with gooey marshmallow fun or you can purchase a full s’more kit. S’moresville will close each evening at 10PM. S’moresville will be closed on Christmas day.
