Do you like mead, otherwise known as honey wine? If so, you are in luck as Pittsboro is home to its very own meadery, Starrlight Mead. This award winning meadery produces a delicious product similar to white wine as well as fruit infused blends. Starrlight also has a new location at The Plant Beverage District in Pittsboro. In their gorgeous tasting room, you can relax and take in the garden view while sampling the wares.
And what better time for a visit than for The American Homebrewers Association’s Mead Day! The first Saturday in August has been declared as a special day for the making, drinking and sharing of Mead!!
Starrlight Mead, is taking advantage by hosting a mini Renaissance fair with smoked Turkey Legs, food trucks, sword fighting knights, Renaissance music, home mead making demonstrations, lots of arts and crafts vendors – including jewelry, stained glass, iron candle holders, and much more great items!
Mead speaks of olden day charm so don’t miss out on this celebration!
The food is local, the tastings are delicious and it’s a free, fun, and family-friendly event that you don’t want to miss! Come in costume and bring the kids!
