Strawberry Season!

Spring is moving us right along towards summer with warm temperatures, bugs and now at last- fresh produce. The best part of spring in the Triangle/Piedmont is strawberry season. Strawberries kick off the season of delicious berries and can be enjoyed either pre-picked or in the field as a family adventure in U-Pick. Depending on the year and season, it can be a challenge to find a farm the is open for you-pick, so I have pulled together the ones in our general area that traditionally have u-pick options.

Keep in mind to call ahead to make sure strawberries are still available and/or field conditions support picking. If picking berries isn’t your thing but you love local flavors, most farms will have freshly picked options. You can also try the Chatham Market Place, Weaver Street Markets or our various farmers markets in the area. Use this linkto learn more about Chatham and surrounding counties Farmers Markets.
