As the global leader in the production of Silicon Carbide materials and devices, Wolfspeed aims to support sustainability through more efficient semiconductor technology. Their eco-conscious business practices come in handy when creating parts for electric vehicles and growing 5G networks. Their new facility in Chatham County aims to create 1,800 new jobs, with a projected $5 billion dollars of projected investment in the region.
We’ve already detailed Vinfast’s exciting new plans for a plant in Chatham County. Construction of the $4 billion facility is underway, with a completion date of 2025. It is estimated that the company will bring in more than 7,500 new jobs to the area.
