3 Reasons to Move to Willow Springs

Are you moving to the Triangle? Maybe you’re a current resident looking to buy a home of your own. Either way, the area’s dwindling urban space and escalating prices mean that you’re likely looking at one of the area’s many suburban communities.

Just South of Chapel Hill is Pittsboro, a beautiful, historic town located in the rolling NC countryside. Willow Springs is one of its best neighborhoods!

Cost of Living

One of the downsides of living in the Triangle is that as its popularity grows, so does the cost of living. The current median home cost in the Triangle is around $287,000, around $30,000 over the national average! If you want to live in Durham, Raleigh, or even Chapel Hill, you have to pay for the privilege.

But as the Triangle has grown, outlying communities like Willow Springs have offered a compelling alternative. In Willow Springs, a 3-bedroom home with around 2000 square feet of space runs around $250,000, significantly more affordable than Raleigh or Durham. Property taxes for our Chatham County homes are also approximately 10-15% lower than the main Triangle areas.

Location

Pittsboro is minutes from US-64, a main Triangle thoroughfare that connects directly to downtown Raleigh. Running North, US-501 is a straight shot to Chapel Hill and Durham. For commuters, that means around a very doable 25-40 minute trip to most of the Triangle job centers.

Don’t want to go into the city for leisure? No problem! Pittsboro’s charming historical downtown has plenty of options for a night out, from craft beers at The City Tap to upscale seafood at The Postal Fish Company. Outdoor activities also abound with Jordan Lake merely minutes away from the neighborhood, offering miles of trails, boating, playgrounds, campgrounds, and more.

Future Growth

Pittsboro might be a small town, but it’s the site of one of the biggest developments in the Triangle: Chatham Park. Located on 7,000+ acres on the Haw River – just east of Pittsboro – Chatham Park is a massive mixed-use development with single-family homes, apartments, schools, and an entertainment district.

Upon completion, Chatham Park will put shopping, entertainment, and local dining right nextdoor to Willow Springs!
