Weekend evenings in the Triangle mean hopefully fabulous weather and outdoor concerts. As daytime temperatures cool the music is just heating up and no where is that more true than in Saxapahaw. Head out to Alamance county Saturdays’ from May to September for free music, kid inspired activities, farmers/craft market vendors and food trucks.
Top bands of local/regional acclaim grace the outdoor stage from genres such as: bluegrass, back porch, blues, folk, gospel, latin, celtic, funk, roots, americana and old time. Admission is free, but donations are accepted via the “Swan Bucket” that makes it way through the crowd to help with band payment. In addition to the live music you will find kid centric activities such as large-scale bubble blowing, a huge slip and slide, face painting and more. This outdoor concert session is also home to the a bustling Alamance county farmers’ market with local produce, cheese, eggs, vegetables, meat, baked goods, flowers, local wine as well as hand-made artisan goods. Never fear ready made food is available through a plethora of local food trucks including Maple View Ice Cream to help get you through those toasty evenings.
Bring blankets, chairs, food from home, libation and claim your spot on the green hill for a relaxing evening of music and more!
