South African Cooking Class
I love trying foods from all over the world and experiencing the different flavors that are highlighted. Food has a way of comforting us and bringing us together as people. Come together to learn how to cook recipes that bring us closer to a different culture. Often times when trying “ethnic” foods I am slightly intimidated by trying to recreate it in my own kitchen because of not being familiar with the ingredients used. What better way to learn than to have someone teach you! Husband Alexander, cheese maker for Goat Lady Dairy, and wife Cheryl-Anne, South African native and chef, will be teaching this tasty class which will introduce you to South African foods and cooking. Cheryl-Anne Kast is a graduate of The Institute of Culinary Arts in Stellenbosch, South Africa. She has worked in locations all around the world and was the Catering and Special Events Manager at the Fearrington House Restaurant for six years here in Pittsboro. This year she moved on to create Kast Events, LLC.
