Fall Fun for the Family

Ok, here is your source for all the fall festival fun you can possibly handle. From corn mazes, to haunted trails, pumpkin picking and animal fun, these farms will provide all the essentials for you to embrace the best of the season.

Gross Farms – Sanford, NC
The Gross family has owned and farmed this land for over five generations. In the fall, they host farm visitors for a 15 acre corn maze, pumpkin picking, hayrides and other fall fun. The address is 1632 Pickett Road, Sanford, NC.

Clayton Fear Farms Daytime – Clayton, NC
This is a Boyette Family Farms attraction. They have their in their field pumpkins, corn maze, picnic shelter, and playground. They are open weekends in October. At night they open their haunted scream park most nights in October. 1620 Loop Road, Clayton, NC.

Upchurch Farm – Durham, NC.  Pick your own pumpkins and corn maze fun.  It features a hayride, hay maze, cotton field, forest trail, and barnyard animals.  2521 Louis Stephens Dr, Cary, NC 27519

Ken’s Korny Corn Maze – Garner, NC
This was the first in North Carolina, opening in 2000. Get lost among the 2.5 miles of trails in the six acre corn maze. Around Halloween, the maze is also open for flashlight or moonlight excursions. There’s also Harvested Farm Nightmares in October, which is a haunted house, trail and haunted corn maze. Other activities include a kid’s straw maze, rope maze and mini golf.

Phillips Farms – Cary, NC
Hayrides, real pumpkin patch with off the vine picking, bounce pillow, cow train, pumpkin tether ball, corn box, cornhole and other activities. Haunted Farm with four horrifying attractions opens on Friday and Saturday nights starting on the last weekend in September.

Green Acres – Cary, NC
The farm was started in 1898 and is run by fourth generation farmers. It has a 10 acre maze with 2.5 miles of paths. Use maze trivia or QR Codes on your smart phone to navigate the maze if you wish.

J. Razz & Tazz Farm – Gibsonville, NC
Open Friday through Sunday in the Fall. Combination discount tickets including other activities are available. Hayrides, haunted hayrides, pre-picked pumpkins, cow train, corn bin. Located between Greensboro and Burlington.

Pumpkin Patch Express- Durham

Museum of Life + Science,
October 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 26-27
Climb aboard the Ellerbe Creek Railway for a journey to the Museum’s pumpkin patch. Pick the perfect pumpkin to decorate and take home, then enjoy crafts, a hay maze and a variety of carnival games before returning to the station. Pre-registration is required. Tickets are on sale now.

Huckleberry Trail Farm- Siler City

Open Saturdays and Sundays from September 28 to October 27
Activities include a corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin patches, cotton patches, and farmyard games. 

Naylor Family Farm and Giant Corn Maze- Fuquay-Varina

September 14 – November 3
Attractions include a 10 acre corn maze, gem mining, a jump pad, farm animals, hay rides, a pumpkin patch, barrel train, play barn, farm tower fort, tire mountain, campfires, and more. $18 gets you a pass to all activities and a free pumpkin. Additional options such as animal feed for the petting zoo, pick-a-pumpkin, and snacks and drinks are available for small additional fees. 6016 U.S. 401 N., Fuquay-Varina

Pumpkin Patch at Chestnut Ridge Community Farm- Efland

Open Saturdays in October (October 5, 12, 19, 26) 
Activities include pumpkins for sale, hayrides, face painting, meet the animals, nature play area, explore the garden, and more.
Admission is $5 per person, and free for ages 2 and under.

Raleigh Haunted Footsteps Ghost Tour- Raleigh

Tours are given on weekends and select days throughout September, October, and November. Family friendly 1.5 mile walking tour for ages 8 and older combines local ghost stories, folklore, and history and takes guests through the Raleigh City Cemetery and several ghost sites in downtown Raleigh. Tickets: $15 for adults and $10 for ages 8 – 14. They must be purchased online. Departs on Fayetteville St, Raleigh

Phillips Farms of Chatham- Cary

Open weekends from September 14 – November 3.  The Haunted Farm is open every Friday and Saturday night from the last weekend of September through the last weekend of October.  
Haunted Farm: The Field of Lost Souls, The Rebellion Trail, The Gore House, Big Top Terror. 
Daytime Activities: Corn maze, bounce pillow, fun house, hayride, much more. There’s a pumpkin patch (price by size) and additional activities for a small fee. 
Tickets: Haunted farm admission is $21 per person, Daytime activities are $12 for ages 3+. 6701 Good Hope Church Rd., Cary
