Spring is moving us right along towards summer with warm temperatures, bugs and now at last- fresh produce. The best part of spring in the Triangle/Piedmont is strawberry season. Strawberries kick off the season of delicious berries and can be enjoyed either pre-picked or in the field as a family adventure in U-Pick. Depending on the year and season, it can be a challenge to find a farm the is open for you-pick, so I have pulled together the ones in our general area that traditionally have u-pick options.
Keep in mind to call ahead to make sure strawberries are still available and/or field conditions support picking. If picking berries isn’t your thing but you love local flavors, most farms will have freshly picked options.
