Just the other day, I came across this great resource called “Chatham Connecting.” Their slogan says it all, “Connecting those who need help with those who can help.”
Whether you are on the giving or receiving end, this website is full of opportunities to be helped or to help others here in Chatham County. Looking for an event to volunteer at or an organization to provide continuous support to or searching for assistance to help you through a hard time? This is a good place to look. The website is extremely user friendly and helps guide you to find exactly what you are looking for. If your primary language is Spanish, there is an option to translate the entire website to Spanish by simply clicking on the Espanol link.
I also know that many high schools and middle schools require that their students complete a certain amount of community service hours. Chatham Connecting has a Youth Volunteers link that provides you with age appropriate volunteer opportunities for our youth.
After looking through their website I can honestly say that I had no idea there were this many ways to receive and provide help specifically in Chatham County and I am thoroughly impressed. This is what building a community is all about!
