THE WHAT
Abundance NC presents the 10th Annual Pepper Festival!
This festival is one of the largest local food gatherings in North Carolina and its right here in Chatham County! PepperFest is a celebration of the regions sustainable local agriculture as well as local food community.
This outdoor event hosts around 2500 visitors annually for a gathering to support learning and discovery and provide something for the kids all while honoring delicious North Carolina produce and the talent of local chefs and craftsman. There is a little something for each family member. DIY educational workshops on sustainability efforts, conservation, renewable energy, local food, etc. are offered alongside the amazing food. The festival pairs local farms with local chefs and taxes them with the feat of preparing pepper-themed dishes. In the past, everything from pepper ice cream to chili was whipped up for a crowd. Local beer, wine, soda etc. are also part of the festivities and can showcase the pepper as well. Local musicians are on the menu and there is a kid craft and fun zone to keep the children busy.
